Matthew Garby is a Toronto based Painter. Their works are an investigation into representations of (seemingly) recognizable images and situations as well as depictions and ideas that can only be realized in painting.
The inherent visual seductiveness is the product of relating the cultural and artistic history of images and their popular interpretations in a memetic way, creating work that is simultaneously fresh and familiar.
